LIFE

WITH

PAIN

And then...

something needs to change

The Chronic Pain Cycle

Is a downward spiral.

Activity can lead to pain.

Pain can lead to self-protection, rest, and withdrawal.

Rest can lead to less activity.

Less activity results in less fitness and increased depression.

Less fitness and increased depression makes us more susceptible to isolation and injury.

And repeat. And repeat. And repeat.

Fire. All the time.

When you live with chronic pain, it can feel like this.

You wake up with a fire alarm already going off.

Some days, you push through and get the jobs done.

And then you flare.

Some days, you are just trying to put out the wild fire.

You never know how far to push yourself before the fire flares.

Because you live with fire all the time.

Your fire alarm is going off all the time.

Activity Pacing

Activity Pacing

We can't remove all pain.

We can't numb all pain.

We can't change all pain.

We can improve function.

We can increase engagement with life.

We can rearrange our priorities.
